Situation:

An LED bulb manufacturer changed the design of the previous snap together housing and diffuser to a bonded assembly and struggled to meet production goals with their existing epoxy solution.

Challenges:

The current epoxy solution had long cure time of of 6 to 8 hours which: Slowed production output
Increased WIP of bulbs consuming valuable floor space
Iincreased overall cost of the LED bulb in a very competitive market

Solutions:

The Henkel solutions expert recommended LOCTITE EA E-30HVfast curing epoxy which achieved handling strength in < 1 hour LOCTITE EA E-30HV was dispensed on the outer edge of the diffuser cap and then metal housing was pressed onto this.

Reduced cure time from 8 hours to <1 hour increasing production volume
